What is cellulite?
The name “cellulite” sounds more like a serious disease, but it is nothing more than a normal fat content under the skin. In cellulite, the subcutaneous fat pushes the connective tissue and this causes the skin above it to sag.
Cellulite is not harmful, but many people would like to get rid of it because they don’t like the way it looks.
What causes cellulite?
Although being overweight can increase the risk of cellulite, it is not the only factor that causes it.
In addition to weight, there are several other factors that can contribute to the appearance and visibility of cellulite.
Improper nutrition is one of the important factors associated with cellulite. A diet high in saturated fats, sugars, and processed foods can contribute to the accumulation of body fat and increase inflammation in the body. This can increase the visibility of cellulite.
Slow metabolism can also be a factor that affects the appearance of cellulite.
When the metabolism is slow, the body has a harder time breaking down fats and their excess can accumulate and create conditions for the development of cellulite.
Lack of physical activity can contribute to the appearance of cellulite. Regular exercise and muscle training can help improve circulation and skin tone, which can reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Hormonal changes can also play a role in the appearance of cellulite. Some hormonal imbalances, such as the changes that occur during pregnancy or during the transition period, can contribute to an increase in the visibility of cellulite.
Dehydration is a factor that can also increase the risk of cellulite. Not having enough hydration can affect the health of the skin, making it less elastic and vulnerable.
An increased level of body fat can make cellulite more visible. When the percentage of body fat is high, the fat cells can press on the subcutaneous tissues and create a more pronounced “orange peel” effect.
Symptoms of Cellulite
One of the main symptoms of cellulite can be a feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the affected area of the skin.
In addition, pain may be felt when touching the skin or when moving. This may be due to the inflammation and swelling that occurs as a result of the infection.
Another important symptom is increased skin temperature in the affected area. This is due to inflammation and changes in blood circulation in the affected area.
Due to dilation of blood vessels, the skin may appear redder or have warm spots. This condition may be accompanied by fever, especially in severe cases of cellulitis.
In addition to redness and swelling, other skin changes may occur in some cases of cellulitis. Small red spots may spread from the reddened area and form various markings.
In rare cases, small blisters may appear, which usually disappear on their own after a while.
Although these cases are rare, it is always a good idea to seek medical attention if you notice such skin changes.
Cellulitis can develop anywhere on the body, but it most commonly affects the extremities, such as the legs and arms. Often the cause of cellulitis is a bacterial infection, with Staphylococcus aureus being the most common pathogen.
Infection can occur through microtraumas or skin wounds that become inflamed and infected
Cellulite Treatment
Fortunately, there are natural ways to reduce cellulite, and one of those ways is a few exercises that work the areas of the thighs and hips where cellulite usually appears.< /p>
If you do these exercises three times a week, they will tone your body in a very short time.
Doing any exercise that focuses on the cellulite-prone areas – thighs and hips – will strengthen the muscles in the areas where your skin is loose.
Find yourself some stable support – it could be a tall table or cupboard, the height of which is at the level of your navel, stand with your feet slightly less than the width of the shoulders.
You should stand at such a distance from the support that when you stretch your arms as far forward as possible and bend over, you can rest firmly on the support with your hands.
When you are in this position start slowly bringing one leg back, after extending it as much as possible, then slowly bring it back to its starting position, so do 10-15 repetitions as when you bring your leg back as much as possible, hold it in this position – raised, about 10-15 seconds. Then you will feel that your cellulite is burning – you will really feel a burning sensation.
Another exercise that will tone and strengthen the gluteal and thigh muscles and help you get rid of cellulite is: lie on a hard surface, maybe on the floor if you are doing it at home, and it is good to put a mat underneath so you don’t lie directly on the ground.
fYour feet should be shoulder-width apart. Your legs should be bent at an angle of about 45 degrees.
Then, from this position, slowly raise the pelvis as high as possible, holding for about 10-15 seconds in the highest position. Then slowly lower until you return to the starting position and you should do 10-15 repetitions.
