4 tricks to look better in photos

Among all the smartphone selfies and photo editing apps, you practically don’t even need to use the real radiance of your faces.

Many people look much different in their social media photos than they do in real life.

All technology aside, there are still a few natural ways to look better in photos – and still look like yourself. Some girls improve their look in photos even through Photoshop.

Now you’re going to see some old fashioned ways to look better in photos.

  1. Take a few minutes to prepare before taking the photo

“ I know everyone likes things to happen quickly and in real time, but a few minutes of preparation can make you have a photo you love and one you never want to see again” says Melis of Melis+ Dainon Beauty, Body & Celebrity Photography.

This means knowing how to position yourself. Chin up/down, face left/right, look straight into the camera or have your head slightly tilted and more. Find the position in which you look best.

Once you know your photos will be better, the memories that remain will be more.

“There are people who say you should always shoot at a certain angle or never stand a certain way, but you have to find your best way to get a good shot,” says photographer Benjamin Weatherson.

Just because your friend always tilts his head to the right and puts his chin up doesn’t mean you have to do the same. Everyone is different and comes out differently on camera.

The only way to find your best pose is to spend some time in front of the mirror or get someone to take your picture to see which photos look best.

  1. Express your mood

If you really feel happy, sexy, etc. then show it. “At the end of the day, it should be a photo that makes you smile and remember the feeling when it was taken,” said Melis.

You shouldn’t worry so much about how you look, but focus more on how you feel. Remember that photos are made to remember amazing moments and don’t let a silly smile cloud that moment.

Even if you don’t want to share with the world, you can keep this memory to yourself. After all, emotion and reality are key – they trigger your memory and make you smile when you look at your photos.

“When you know that all the conditions are right for a photo, but there is no one to take it, it’s the selfie’s turn. So casually and without much effort you can take a picture with your phone,” says Virginia Roberts, Online Dating Coach.

  1. Be confident

Confidence is the key to the most attractive look you will get in a photo. “Don’t hide behind friends and give a real smile,” reminds Roberts. Just be yourself and have fun!

  1. Light plays a big role

“Most bars, restaurants and clubs have terrible lighting, so the quality of the picture is always poor”, says Weatherson. Melis advises avoiding direct overhead lighting, which makes your hair and face color darker.

If you are able to expose your face to a light source, it will look better and avoid under eye circles and bags.
