5 ways to wake up without morning coffee

It has been scientifically proven that coffee is beneficial, especially for men, as it protects against aggressive forms of prostate cancer.

It also lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which is affecting more and more people and for which there is currently no cure. According to WHO data, over 200 million people worldwide suffer from the insidious disease. Therefore, the habit of waking up with a cup of coffee in the morning is proven to be beneficial.

However, it is not the only one to motivate us for our upcoming, challenging day.

Whether you’re trying to cut back on coffee or have never touched the bitter taste of the caffeinated beverage, below are 5 other ways to wake up your still-sleeping body in the morning.

1. Try stretching your body a few mornings

Try the following movement, which is among the yoga asanas and is called matsya asana in Sanskrit and translates to fish. Lie still on your back and tuck your hands under your hips. Then lift your chest above your shoulders and slowly drop your head back.

2. Eat an apple

Just one bite of this energizing fruit is enough to wake up the body and help it kick into gear.

Apples contain natural sugars and other carbohydrates that help stabilize blood sugar. Other fruits such as bananas and oranges have the same effect on the body.

To keep you full longer, combine the fruit with yogurt, which is a valuable source of proteins.

3. Work out in the morning

A morning run is probably the last thing you want to do while snuggled up under the warm covers.

But you should know that it is scientifically proven – with a morning run you will lift your mood and you will feel yourself filled with energy.

During physical exertion endorphins are released, which are precisely the reason why a person feels much better and much more prepared for his upcoming busy day.

Try running or doing some other exercise for 7 minutes on the first day and you will see the difference. By comparison, it usually takes that long to prepare and drink a cup of coffee.

4. Get out in the fresh air and stay in the sun for a while

If you are not able to exercise in the morning, then, without any effort on your part, you can go out on the terrace and breathe some fresh air and enjoy a little the morning sun.

A breath of fresh air has been shown to help reduce feelings of stress and fatigue. Exposure to the morning sun has been linked to better mood and a lower body mass index.

5. Take a cool shower

But if you are used to hot showers, it is not advisable to undergo such torture in this sick season.

It is best, for example, tomorrow morning to take a shower with slightly cooler water than you normally bathe with. And so gradually until your body gets used to the lower water temperatures.

You will benefit twice from these procedures. One is that after a shower you will feel invigorated and fully ready to solve complex mental tasks, and the second is that you will toughen up your body and forget about colds and flu this winter.
