6 foods for good acid balance

Unfortunately, the typical diet consists largely of toxic and acid-forming foods, such as refined grains, processed sugars, artificial sweeteners >, pasteurized juices, fried foods, meat and dairy products. The list goes on. All this combined with lack of sleep, stress and pharmaceutical drugs to top it off, leads to various diseases.

It is important to maintain a proper pH balance. All foods in nature contain acid, but when our body takes in too much alkali (acid) or too little, it can lead to an imbalance.

When we eat too many acidic foods, it can lead to serious illnesses such as acidosis (a common diagnosis in people with diabetes).

When the nutrients needed to achieve this “acid balance” are not sufficient, however, the body begins to break down its own fat from bones and other vital tissues, which in turn impairs the body’s ability to repair itself and detoxifies heavy metals.

Ultimately, what we must strive for again is balance. Care must be taken in what foods we take, especially if we do not want unnecessary complications, diseases, etc. Here is a list of some of the most important alkaline foods that everyone should include in their diet.

1. Lemons

Most people assume that lemons are a sour fruit, maybe it’s because they taste very sour or because of the citric acid, but in reality lemons are very alkaline. They have a pH level of 9.0, which practically means that they have a pro-alkaline effect on digestion.

Yellow citrus fruits are also rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and electrolytes. If you can’t take them straight, try squeezing some into your water, or just put lemon on your salad instead of vinegar at lunch.

2. Apples

Apples have a pH level of 8.0, and they contain a variety of minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals that help keep the body healthy and the immune system working properly.

Apples contain many enzymes that support digestion and optimal hormonal balance. And the best thing is that they suit almost every taste, and also apples are very suitable for sweets, from time to time, of course.

3. Root vegetables

They are rich in minerals. Beets, turnips and carrots are a good representative of these vegetables. You can bake them, steam them, or even eat them raw or grated over salads.

4. Alfalfa Sprouts

Sprouts are amazing little nutritionally packed boosters that are highly alkaline and contain many important vitamins and minerals. If you like cabbage, you can easily get its seeds and it will last you all year long.

5. Leafy greens

These include vegetables like kale and Popeye’s food, namely spinach. They are high in vitamin K and folic acid, phytochemicals, antioxidants and fiber.

You can easily add spinach to a soup or stew or just make a salad. A good choice is to combine the spinach salad with two other alkaline foods – garlic and lemon!

6. Watermelon

Not only is watermelon an alkalizing food with a pH of 9.0, it is also extremely delicious. It is also an excellent source of fiber, beta carotene, vitamin C and lycopene. Watermelon consists of 92% water and always quenches thirst! It also has other health benefits.
