Olive oil significantly increases the chances of getting pregnant
Scientists from the University of Southampton, Great Britain, managed to establish the unique properties of olive oil. It turned out that this food product helps women conceive a child.
The results of the experiment show that with regular use of olive oil, their chances of getting pregnant increase by almost 40%.
British scientists were surprised by the beneficial effect that this food product has on female fertility.
However, according to the researchers, more research is needed in this direction in order to develop a new nutritional regime that makes it possible to increase the probability of conceiving a child in women.
In the framework of the study, the scientists used the data of about 300 married couples who were experiencing difficulties in conceiving a child and had turned to an infertility treatment clinic to conduct in vitro fertilization attempts.
It should be noted that this procedure only helps women to become pregnant in 20-30% of cases.
All studied couples were divided by the scientists into several groups, each of which was offered a special diet.
The diet included the use of olive oil added to prepared dishes and also to vegetable salads.
The diet of some of the study participants also included the intake of nutritional supplements enriched with vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids.
The research lasted for a period of 6 weeks, during all this time the scientists observed changes in the body of each of the volunteers.
When the British researchers’ experiment came to an end, they compared the effect that the use of olive oil has on conceiving a child with that of sunflower oil, which is used for cooking and adding to salads.
The results of this comparison showed that increasing the amount of olive oil, one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, in women’s diets increased their chances of conceiving a child by up to 40% and led to more intensive development of the embryo after an in vitro procedure.
In this regard, scientists recommend that women include olive oil in their diet if they face difficulties in conceiving a child.
Furthermore, reproductive medicine specialists have concluded that couples in good health who wish to have a child and those women who have some minor problems conceiving can use olive oil for 2 months to increase the likelihood of pregnancy by 50 and more percent.
It is also important to note that the results of experiments conducted by specialists from the American Chemical Society have recently become known, which established the advantages of olive oil in its use for food preparation.
It turns out that food prepared with olive oil retains most of its useful nutrients and thus has a favorable effect on the overall state of health. For this reason, it is best to use olive oil and not other vegetable oils for cooking.
In addition, scientists have proven that olive oil is the best choice for repeated food preparation.
As part of the study, the researchers fried sliced potatoes at least 10 times, using different types of oil for this purpose.
The results of this experiment show that olive oil is the most suitable for cooking because it retains its resistance to the various undesirable processes that occur when frying foods.
