How to get rid of nausea during pregnancy

While some women go through pregnancy with ease, for many it can be very difficult, accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

These are normal concomitant conditions, especially during the first three months, called the first trimester.

In fact, more than 65 percent of women have this problem during pregnancy.

The exact cause of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy is still unknown.

However, it is thought that rapid hormonal changes in the body can cause changes in the muscle contraction and relaxation patterns of the stomach, leading to nausea and vomiting.

Other contributing factors are certain odors, certain foods, fatigue, stress, anxiety, sensitive stomach, as well as vitamin or mineral deficiencies.

Keep a glass of water by your bed. Drink in small sips immediately after waking up. Give your stomach enough time to settle and then leave your bed.

Also drink enough water throughout the day. This will help lift your mood and improve your digestion.

Ginger

Ginger is one of the best natural remedies to deal with vomiting, even during pregnancy.

It works well on the digestive system and helps block the acid secretion in the stomach that causes nausea or vomiting. Also, the smell and taste of ginger can help stop vomiting.

Swallow a small piece of ginger or chew it like candy for quick relief.

A mixture of 5 drops of ginger juice and 1 teaspoon of honey also helps. It is consumed slowly, immediately after waking up.

You can also drink ginger tea, which is prepared by boiling 1 teaspoon of grated ginger in a glass of water. Strain, add a little honey and drink slowly. 1-2 cups of ginger tea in the morning are recommended.

Lemon

Lemon can also help reduce symptoms of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. The lemon smell has a natural calming effect on the body. Plus, the vitamin C in lemon is beneficial for every pregnant woman as well as the unborn baby.

Squeeze a fresh lemon into a glass of water and add a little honey. Drink the juice every morning to start the day peacefully.

You can even just smell fresh lemon peels to relieve nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

An option is also to use lemon essential oil, placing it in a towel and inhaling at the first symptoms.

Mint

Mint is an herb that can reduce morning sickness or vomiting during pregnancy. It helps calm the stomach and in turn reduces nausea.

Add 1 teaspoon of dried mint to a glass of warm water. Cover and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and add a little sugar or honey. Drink this tea after waking up in the morning.

Another option is to put a few drops of peppermint essential oil on a handkerchief and inhale the aroma when you have an attack of nausea.

For some women, however, the aroma of mint can cause nausea – take into account the peculiarities of your organism.

Dill

Dill is another great remedy for vomiting and nausea during pregnancy. It aids digestion and soothes the lining of the digestive tract, thus reducing symptoms. The aroma and taste of fennel helps to calm the stomach.

Also, this vitamin does not cause harm to the fetus and is considered safe during pregnancy.

You can take vitamin B6 as a dietary supplement. The typical dose is 25 mg, three times a day. However, consult your gynecologist before taking this medicine.

A healthy and balanced diet high in vitamin B6 will also help prevent vomiting during pregnancy.

Eat foods rich in vitamin B6 such as brown rice, avocados, bananas, fish, corn and nuts.
