It’s not right that the diet you’re on should drain you of every last drop of energy. Stephanie Middleburg, a New York-based nutritionist, says the diet is meant to make you feel just the opposite—energized, healthy, and charged.

“If you have digestive problems, constipation, or loose stools, you may be lacking some key nutrients.” – says Middleburg.

And maybe the food that your diet contains is not suitable for your body. Trust us – weight loss doesn’t have to be nasty, difficult, excruciating and draining.

3. You experience anxiety and depression

“Any successful diet should leave you feeling ready, energized, happy and full of energy, not stressed and anxious.” – mentions nutritionist Middleburg.

If you feel under constant stress from your diet, the best thing to do is to change your diet, making it more comfortable for you and suitable for your body.

4. You’re hungry all day

Being a little hungry is normal if you’ve eaten less than you’re used to. But if your appetite is out of control all the time, then your diet is not right and is too restrictive for you.

5. Can’t wait for your diet to be over

It’s a very bad sign if you’re doing your workout and compulsively preparing your meals, can’t wait for this diet to be over, counting every second left until the end of this “endless” torture.

“Short-term diets like “10 pounds in 6 weeks” are doomed from the start, because as soon as you achieve the result, you will gain the weight back again. Weight loss is a process that requires patience to change your eating habits, not just counting how many calories you’ve burned,” Middleburg added.

6. You just don’t lose weight

It’s true, not everyone loses and gains the same way as someone else, it’s still a process that’s very individual, but if you’re still on a certain diet regime 3-4 weeks and you haven’t lost a gram, the best thing you can do is change your diet plan.

“Losing weight isn’t just about how many calories I eat and how many I burn,” says Middleburgh. “It also depends on where and how the calories you feed it come from, the quality of the food you eat, and of course, the time you spend”.
